The new Amazon Echo

What is it ? 

As a reminder, Amazon has become over the past two decades the world largest online retailer. 
 The most complete defintion of the product launch by the company which already meet a huge succes (5 million sales) in the United States has been given by Amazon itself : « Amazon Echo is a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more—instantly. All you have to do is ask. »
Th leader in the online retail announced that he is working on a new version on the Amazon which already meet a huge success in the United States.

Originally, it has been introduced in 2014 but they keep refreshing and developping the product since then. 
The current Echo which can be choose among two colours white or black, is available in 2 languages for the moment : English and German. But still it is not yet available on the French market.
As far as the sound is concerned, Echo is equipped with seven microphones and « advanced noise-cancelling technology » which can hear you anywhere across the room and fill any room with 360° immersive sound. 

How do I use it?

First, when you want yo use Echo just say the word Alexa (or Amazon or Echo). 
The more you use Echo, the more it adapts to your speech patterns. vocabulary, and personal preferences. You can use it with the Alexa app and ask whatever you want from the list for the grocery store to the weather in a small city somewhere on the earth.
Most recently, new settings have been added such as ask for a uber, order a pizza from Domino’s. With the access to the app you can connect to services you already use like Spotify, Pandora, and Google Calendar.
There are a lot of different way to use it according to what you like : for instance if you are a gamer there are Skills for games such as Minecraft and Destiny that'll turn Alexa into a helpful sidekick. 

The Amazon Echo Update

The success of the latest version of the connected speaker has made Amazon think about improving it announcing a new version with a 7 inches touchscreen and improved spekears.
The media announced a uncertain price of 180 $ against 150 $ currently.
They sort of taking the advance on potential new entrants on the market such as Google (with Google home) or even Apple.
